Viewing Calder from the Railyard (1910s)


Check out this picture and the map below. The red circle on the map shows where the buildings on the left side of the photo (with porches) once sat.



Much has changed in Calder since the 1910s. The structures with porches on the left of the 1910s photo are long gone, as are most of that era’s buildings (see here for the Strand Hotel), but some remain. The church on the west side on 119 Street remains today. The Obero Block (which was built on 119th street after the above photo was taken) and some of the houses are still there too.
